From 13 to 15 August 2011, the National Ballet of China was invited to “2011 Edinburgh International Festival”, and its Ballet The Peony Pavilion which unveiled in opening performance was highly acclaimed.
The Edinburgh International Festival and Salzburg Festival (Austria) are recognized as the world’s top two major art events. After more than 60 years of development, the Edinburgh International Festival has become the “Sanctuary” of the world’s artists and art lovers. Every summer, millions of visitors from around the world gather in Edinburgh for three weeks to enjoy the world’s greatest Opera, music, theater and dance. In the international art world, the Edinburgh International Festival has its unparalleled influence and status.
Edinburgh Festival Theatre is the second largest theatre of UK only to the Royal Opera House, London (Covent Garden). It is also the main venue of the Edinburgh International Festival. Only a small number of companies can serve as the opening performance at this theatre, and it represents the high level and stauts of the company.
